I was busy lately with the Company's Ladies Staff & Spouse Club, 7th Sports Carnival which has been held from 18 Jan to 21 Jan recently. Fuhh... so so very very glad & happy that it's over and I really need a good, tight sleep.
The organizing committee has been preparing ever since the President, Puan Sri Datin Sri announced it at the previous Sports Carnival which was held in Kota Kinabalu. Makk ooi.. when we got the news, everyone was not excited pun, because all were scared of the policy, terms and regulations in Vietnam, plus commitment from locals. But our Club Advisor was so confident and firm, she's a high risk taker too. Sangat committed.. Ahaaa... actually I was only busy during the Carnival, only the whole week last week. Yang busy all this while were those in the Secretariat Team la, as usual. I don't ever like doing the paper work, contracting, event & management and so on. And therefore I volunteered for the hardcore jobs & all the field works. Prrgghhh... padan muka ni. Tapi seronok jugak..
There were 17 contigents from various states in Malaysia, plus Indonesia and Afirica. This event was the first time been organized outside Malaysia. 3 games been contested- Badminton, Bowling & Dart.
I was the Liaison Officer for Kuantan. Fuhh... lucklily the Head of Contigent was a simple lady. Tak banyak hal la. Actually, most of them were my hubby's ex-colleague pun. Our Advisor pun tau, so she made me to take charge of this group. Sonang kojo jugak tu. Ha ha... but all of us knew... main games 20% je, but yang lebih tu SHOPPING!!! Mau taknya... datang satu beg sorang, time balik 3-4 bags per person. Pastu pulak, ada yang extend 1 night. As advised by HQ KL, we only entertain those who extend 1 day. Lain tu... at own arrangement lah..
Yang hiccups-nya time nak balik la, time nak ferry all the participants to the airport. Masa sampai ok la beg tak banyak. Sorang satu or dua. But masa nak balik, 3-4 bags per person. Pranngggg... kena tambah bus/taxi lagi. Tu tak pe lagi, excess luggage toksah cite la.. Ada yang excess 30kg per person. USD 3 per kg tu. Nasib baik our MAS Station Officer, Encik Rafi, was very very helpful.
Apa2 pun, we are so glad & proud because the President, Puan Sri Datin Sri was so happy with the organization/hosting the event and for the successful completion of the biyearly event, albeit been thru with so many barriers & difficulties dealing with authorities, contracting, policy etc etc here in Vietnam.
