DAY 4 (Part 1) ~ OSLO, NORWAY TO HEMSEDAL, NORWAY..

 Assalamualaikum & Salam Sejahtera..

28 May 2013.. Day 4.. Bye bye Oslo... Nanti jumpa lagi selepas beberapa hari..  Hubby kata singgah Viking Museum kejap... Sebab dah sampai, better lah pi..

OK lets explore...

Selama ni tengok TV/Movie je pasal Viking ni..

Viking ships were vessels used during the Viking Age in Northern Europe. Scandinavian tradition of shipbuilding during the Viking Age was characterized by slender and flexible boats, with symmetrical ends with true keel. They were clinker built, which is the overlapping of planks riveted together. They might have had a dragon's head or other circular object protruding from the bow and stern, for design, although this is only inferred from historical sources.(Wikipedia)

The preserved remains of THE OSEBERG SHIP....
The Oseberg ship (Norwegian: Osebergskipet) is a well-preserved Viking ship discovered in a large burial mound at the Oseberg farm near Tønsberg in Vestfold county, Norway

THE TUNE SHIP..
The site was excavated by archaeologist Oluf Rygh in 1867. (Wikipedia)

THE GOKSTAD SHIP..
The place where the boat was found, situated on arable land, had long been named Gokstadhaugen or Kongshaugen (from the Old Norse words kóngr meaning king and haugr meaning mound), although the relevance of its name had been discounted as folklore, as other sites in Norway bear similar names. (Wikipedia)
