MIND MAPS..

Introduction, about Mind Maps... as reviewed by Greg Dixon in his website...

Mind maps were developed in the late 60s by Tony Buzan as a way of helping students make notes that used only key words and images. They are much quicker to make, and because of their visual quality much easier to remember and review. The non-linear nature of mind maps makes it easy to link and cross-reference different elements of the map.

Tony and Barry Buzan have explored a powerful way of expressing thoughts called Mind Mapping. The basic technique is to combine lines, text, and images to represent related ideas and concepts. The Mind Map Book presents detailed descriptions of how to use a wide range of Mind Mapping techniques to a myriad of uses.

Some applications of Mind Mapping include: Making Choices, Organizing Your Own Ideas, Organizing Other Peoples Ideas, Memory, Creative Thinking, The Group Mind Map, Self-Analysis, Problem-Solving, The Mind Map Diary, Family Study and Story Telling, Educational Thinking, Teaching, The Master Mind Map, Business and Professional Meetings, Presentations The book is full of mind-maps created by individuals,
including the following as above...

Tony Buzan was here in Ho Chi Minh City 2 weeks ago and hubby got the opportunity to attend his talk on Mind Maps and he bought us these books.

Hhmm, bab membaca ni semakin merudum.

Nampak tak perkataan yang saya bulatkan tu?
"BE A ROCK" bila anak meragam. Teringat pulak kisah seorang kawan yang mencubit (secara tersembunyi) anak lelaki nya berusia 8 tahun yang berkelakuan agak nakal pada satu majlis makan-makan...
"Ibu...!!! You are so rude to pinch me like that.."
Semua terkedu seribu bahasa.. Suasana sunyi seketika..
"Sudah lah tu Har, budak2 memang camtu," sapa seorang teman.

My children, jangan nak lari lah ya. Kena ketam jugak kalau nakal di rumah orang. Siap..

  1. my youngest daughter nina uses this technique to study and memorize and i think it has helped her a lot. but her elder sis lily, doesn't and her grades' are less stellar than nina. don't if it has anything to do with mind mapping or if it's just nina being more rajin.

  2. be a rock? hahaha..
Kat NZ diorg dah nak start anti-smacking rule, parents tak bleh pukul anak to discipline them. many parents here are against the bill.
abes la budak2 jadi spoilt brats.

ubisetela: hah.. camna lagi nak disiplin depa tu, kena la kasi takut sikit, jgn la dok bantai hari2.. layu budak tu nanti..

zlaa: masa dapat buku tu, dah start sudoku.. so payah sikit nak continue baca buku tu.. he he.. nanti, nanti..

k.d: be a rock la kat luar, kat rumah nanti mak jadi rockstar bebel2... nasib takde gitar nak dihayun.. he he..

hazia: heard that it works for lot of students.. hope that it'll work for zharif too..

kak elle: tu la yg dok pikir ni, dulu2 takde pun, tapi ramai jugak bijakpandai around the world..

maklang: betul maklang.. camne kita corak kan anak2, camtu la jadi tu la jadi nya nanti, dgn izin Allah..

zino: orang laki memang camtu, dok kata sabar, sabar.. memang orang pompuan yg dok bebel2 je kan.. he he.. cubit2 tu ok la.. kasi dia gentarrrr sikit, jgn la bantai sampai lupa diri..

  12. mind mapping - memang saya guna zaman belajar dulu.

bab anak2 mencaba ibubapa ni, hehe terkenang zaman saya kecik2 - rasanya kita automatic tahu bila mak tengah marah. tak berani nak lawan. padahal dia buka mata luas sikit aje!

  14. anak-anak akak rajin guna teknik mind mapping ni....it's very useful....

Kadang-kadang kena cakap awal-awal pada anak-anak bila kita nampak marah jangan nak mengada-ngada depan orang.....tapi budak-budak depan orang lagi nak menunjuk 'rocknya'.......

  17. mamasarah: me not so familiar sbb baru tau pasal mind mapping ni.. memang la kita masa kecik2 dulu, mata mak terjegil je, dah tau nak stop... kot tak nanti balik mesti kena ni!!!

kak lady: zharif kalau saya jegil biji mata dari jauh atau sound2 kat dia jgn nakal, dia dah jerit dari jauh, "mummy dont pinch me!!".. ado ko... kena pun tak lagi.. tapi mesti kena punya kalau nakal semedang tu..

luj: memang menguji kesabaran kita... depa ni. huhh.. saya tunggu balik rumah utk cite2 panjang dgn budak2 ni kalau nakal kat rumah orang tu..

azie: betul azie, tapi tak semua yg sabar.. saya ni kureng sikit tahap kesabaran. tapi much better dah. sbb life pun dah tak kalut sangat macam few years back.. seasonal pulak dah kesabaran saya ni..

simah: tak pernah cuba simah ooii, baru tau pasal benda ni. time belajor dulu, takde lak sifu2 kasi tau. baru femes kan.

budak tu memang la hyper sikit, tapi budak kan camtu. depan orang lagi la dia tunjuk hero... he he..

  18. mind-mapping sebenarnya konsep senang je tapi sekarang semua commercialised. Rasanya kat Malaysia memang hebat. Buku-buku Tony Buzan memang bagus (though, as I said, konsep sama je) - untuk different levels, including kids (tapi mahal la!). Ish, jangan pekik, kang cubit kang! Hehehe

  19. sama je dgn.budak2 lain trmasukle anak saya. Masa kecik bila dicubit in public takleh nak bising, dah besar bila dicubit bisingnya mcm.kena pukul.Itu kalau dah smpai umah mmg.kena lagi! Anyway,my students pun dah lama practise mind-mapping nih,mmg.brkesan.

  20. d: yes... sama konsep je rasanya.. the same goes with the education system here in Zharif's school..

qist: saya senang je, cegil je biji mata. tapi at times depa cakap balik, "dont pinch me at home ok..".. adooii..
