LEARNING JOURNEY...

Parents & Teachers Conference di sekolah..

My husband & I went to Zharif's school for Parents and Teachers Conference, also known as "LEARNING JOURNEY" session yesterday. It was not a meeting or a discussion with any of the teachers, but kinda presentation by the children, what they did & learnt in the classroom, Grade 1L.

It is not necessarily samples of their "best work", but rather work that shows what their abilities are and how they are pogressing. We're given the chance to look at our children's Portfolio which indicates the PYP (Primary Years Program) units that have been covered as well as samples from other curriculum areas including the specialist subjects.

We're impressed with Zharif's works and achievements up to now. As we know, kids develop differently. Some has the ability to read faster than their friends while others are able to understand maths at a very early stage. Parents're told all the time to help & encourage their kids to try & improve, in subjects the love as well as other branches of knowledge too.

  6. k.d: yes, he goes to Int'nal School Ho Chi Minh City..

sorry abt the fruitman, it was "A HEALTHY FRUIT BODY".. showed him the entry & screamed.. "not a fruitman, mum.. a healthy fruit body!!".. kah kah kah.. maknya.. but he did mention fruitman dulu..

luj: here the teachers keep their (best la kononnya)artwork and save for the art exhibition tu. so semua kids punya hasilkeje ada display kat situ..

matchip2: tq for dropping by. memang depa seronok sekolah kat sini. even the high school student, depa enjoy pi sekolah. dunno..maybe ambience, the education system & programs.. and cikgu sini pun memang selalu peluk2 students macam family..

    zlaa: waalaikumsalam..tq for dropping by..

takde pun, depa ni main sambil belajar. kita pulak risau. every term ada theme (mcm now is underwater, all about sea). jadinya semua subject & project, ikut theme tu la. reading ke, science ke, maths ke. sini budak2 kena pikir & speak up. they're encouraged to ask & give opinion.

  11. zino: zharif memang makna "yang bijak" kan.. harap2 nya bijak dlm semua aliran terutama aliran agama..

kakluna: tu keje dia kat sekolah. kat rumah, abis sekotak la kertas A4 pun. bila habis term sekolah, baru cikgu kasi bawak balik rumah.

kak elle: igloo tu memang kami kena tolong potongkan s'foam tu. dia nak sangat buat igloo. dia susun senget2 jugak tapi ayah nya pi groom kasi bulat. other kids punya lagi cantik2.

zakiah: tu yearly event kat sekolah. each student ada 1 hasilseni yg dipamirkan, tak kira la camna rupa bentuknya. selalu cikgu yg pilih dari koleksi hasil keje kat kelas. kat rumah, pamir terus kat dinding.. sabor je la..

  18. faiza: tq, salam dari vietnam juga.. thanx for dropping by..

    david: tq again..

idham: tq... zharif tu tak bukak mulut (mak dia tak kasi). gigi kapak tumbuh sebelah je. bab2 art ni, memang sekolah ni suka sgt korek bakat budak2..

simah: tu la, syok betul kalau pi sekolah ni. dinding sekolah, classroom, tangga etc.. penuh dgn artwork budak2. tak kisah la cantik ke tak, all will be displayed. dari yg kecik 2-3 tahun pun ada. jeles betul... art daku masa kecik2 masuk tong je..

d: saya ingat masa sekolah dulu2, byk sgt limitations untuk berkarya. hanya yg betul2 pandai (gifted) saja diketengahkan. sini tadak, sume pun naik dinding..

jhazkitaro: salam dari vietnam. thanx for dropping by...

  19. Menarik dan creativ sungguh..

  20. Sepatutnya anak2 di sini lebih banyak diajar bagaimana mengembangka kreativiti mereka...tapi kat sekolah tadika Fareez tu....semuanya belajar2...homework pun bertimbun...kesian dia...

  21. wow, those are really nice! memang tak boleh dibandingkan dgn sekolah d sini.

  22. I used to teach art for school kids. It was a wonderful time having the opportunity to teach & learn with the young ones, how I miss them...

    ReplyDelete
  23. azie: ada jugak yg menarik sangat, tapi bila depa display, jadi menraik pulak.. seni ni lain orang lain penilaiannya kan..

old town: tu la, rasa macam nak masuk sekolah semula..

kak lady: sini depa suka cungkil bakat seni budak, di samping encourage belajar subject lain. depa tak ketepikan art, music & sports. sume satu package dengan core subjects..

intan: depa enjoy belajar kat sini. kena selalu praise them & encourage all the time. baru la senang nak ajak belajar..

qisst: they are angels kan.. very pure ones.. spell out thru their artworks.. macam insan seni lain jugak. tidak dikritik hasilnya malah dipuji sentiasa..

  26. faiza: zharif tahun ni 7thn.. bulan mei nanti..

cikdinz: ok la jugak tapi ada jugak yg tak elok nya, sbb pergaulan students laki pompuan takde batas esp budak2 high school. takut budak2 ni terikut2. depa kan bukan se-agama kita.

  27. Salam mulan ,

Apapun, enjoy tengok gambar-gambar tu.
